PRESIDENT GARCIA ANNOUNCES OPENING OF CULINARY HOUSE

Lima, Jul. 28. Peru will soon open the Casa de la Gastronomia (Culinary House) expected to become the national emblem, President Alan Garcia said in his address to the nation on the occasion of the 189th anniversary of Independence.
Announcement was made after reviewing the progress made in cultural aspects under his administration.
Garcia updated the whole nation on the progress made on the construction of museums like Chavin, Huaca Rajada, Huaca el Sol and la Luna, the reopening of Art Museum and Literature House.
Garcia Perez also announced that Education Ministry construction works are still in progress on San Borja’s cultural center, where the restored National Museum is also located.
“He also mentioned the construction of the Great National Theater, which is economically supported by 14 important private companies,” he said.
The president thanked the Congress for approving the establishment of the Culture Ministry, which is important to promote the country’s creativity, architecture, history, ceramics, painting, textile art, among others.
